Graduate Medical Education
The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix began sponsoring the Banner Residency and Fellowship Programs in 2015. With over 340 residents and fellows in our programs, Banner – University Medical Center has been training residents and students for over 50 years. Our programs are nationally recognized for leadership in clinical excellence, scholarly activity, teaching and innovation.
Residents as Educators
Residents from the programs at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Valleywise Health (formerly Maricopa Integrated Health System), Dignity Health, HonorHealth, Yuma Regional Medical Center and the UArizona College of Medicine – Phoenix Graduate Medical Education programs are all important in the development and education of medical students. Their participation and commitment is valued deeply and a critical component in educating our Residents. The college offers training in teaching and assessment for all residents in our community to help prepare them for this role, provides feedback on the quality of their teaching and supports on-going resident development in their role as educator.
